3D Images
Welcome to The Panasonic HDC-SDT750 Review. It is the world's first consumer 3D Camcorder. It was designed in conjunction with Hollywood studios and thanks to these groundbreaking developments, 3D images can now be made at home and viewed on 3D compatible TVs. The lastest in technology has now arrived in your living room to give you a new visual experience!
The 3D conversion lens captures subjects with two lenses, making it easy for anyone to shoot in 3D without all the equipment that professional systems required.
This technology was previously only available to professional image producers and now anyone can make these same images. The user just has to attach the 3D conversion lens, it's really that simple! It makes precious memories of friends and family even more memorable in new dimensions.
Technical Spec
So how does the 3D image effect work? In natural vision, people see slightly differently with the left and right eye. This is called visual disparity. The brain uses visual disparity to perceive spatial depth and solid appearing objects.
The HDC-SDT750 uses the same principle as human vision. Left-and right-eye images are simultaneously shot with two lenses which then creates 3D images by artificially reproducing visual disparity.
Even when the 3D Lens is removed you still get to enjoy full advanced options plus lots of manual functions.
1. Full High Definition 1920x1080p (50p) in "2D" recording mode
With the progressive method used in the HDC-SDT750, you get twice as much image data than the interlace method. Plus, the 50 Progressive Recording of the SDT750 produces 50 images per second which gives intricate detail and silky smooth motion. Even when subjects move quickly, after images are minimized to create more natural images.
*Not available when the 3D conversion lens is attached.
2. Advanced 3MOS System
The 3mos system splits the light information captured by the lens into the three primary colours - red, green and blue - and processes each colour with its own individual sensor. This reduces light loss compared to the 1MOS sensor, and renders colours, details and gradation all with intricate detail and natural beauty. The results are spectacular. Images shot in bright conditions are even more vibrant and detailed. And in dim lighting, you can capture clear, sharp images with minimal noise and vivid colours.
3. 35mm Wide Angle Lens*
The 35mm wide-angle lens* on the SDT750 is especially convenient for recording indoors or in tight spaces. It fits more people and more of the background into the frame than a conventional 44.9mm lens. This is particularly handy when you want to take a group photo in a small room.
This means you can shoot at a close distance from the subject and fit both the subject and the surrounding area into the frame. This allows the voice of the subject to be clearly recorded, which is an important element in video recordings. The lens captures beautiful images of wide landscapes and allows large groups of people to fit into the frame, making it highly versatile for use in all kinds of situations.
*35mm camera equivalent. (58mm (35mm camera equivalent) when 3D conversion lens is attached).
Reviews
Here is a brief summary of some of the reviews that the Panasonic HDC-SDT750 has received:
The 3D Lens is designed for up-close depth perception in the range of 3 to 15 feet and doesn't have zoom capacity. Fortunately, the lens is easy to put on or remove also giving you an amazing 2D zoom effect camcorder.
There is a quick setup menu on how to adjust the dual lenses when adding the 3D lens. It's adjusted with a few knobs under a door at the top of assembly.
The 3D conversion lens splits the image in two and is recorded as left and right images by the standard 1080p sensor. This means that each side receives 960 x 1080 but it looks fine on standard 3D televisions.
These are exciting times to be alive as you capture some golden memories in true 3D image styles!
The Panasonic HDC-SDT750 is due for UK release on September 20th, 2010
